Residents believe that constructing a purpose-built arts hub in Nelson will significantly enhance the city's appeal as a cultural destination, attracting more national and international visitors. This increase in tourism is expected to stimulate local economic activity by supporting not only artists but also surrounding businesses in the city center. Additionally, a modern, state-of-the-art facility would solidify Nelson's reputation as a leading center for arts, potentially making it a key location for larger cultural events such as concerts and festivals.
